Phase I Archaeological Survey – Roane County, Tennessee

Between September 21 and September 23, 2021, Jesse Robinson of Waypoint, LLC conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of approximately 153 acres (0.24 square miles) for a proposed stream restoration project located near the city of Rockwood in Roane County. The investigation was completed to support compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and applicable federal and state cultural resource management guidelines.

The survey was designed to identify and evaluate archaeological resources within the defined Area of Potential Effects (APE) associated with the proposed undertaking and to assess potential effects on historic properties. Vincent Versluis served as Principal Investigator, and Jesse Robinson served as Field Director, overseeing field investigations and data collection.
